Healthy Habits. Healthy Kids.

With childhood obesity levels in Philadelphia at an all time high, Catholic Social Services' OST programs is committed to educating youth and their families about making choices that will help them form healthy habits that last a lifetime. Through a partnership with The Alliance for a Healthier Generation's Healthy Out-of-School-Time Initiative, OST staff has attended staff development and been given extensive technical support to increase its awareness of how to offer nutritional edcuation throughout its many programs. Projects include a visit to Chef Jose Garces's 40-acre Organic Farm, Food & Fun Afterschool classes in every program, and the development of urban gardens within many of the OST programs.
